Research residency for Curators* from the French and Italian speaking part of Switzerland at Gastatelier Gleis 70, Zurich

This call is addressed to CURATORS* from the French and Italian speaking part of Switzerland who would like to develop an exhibition project involving artists*/designers* from the German speaking part of Switzerland. The residency is intended for research and networking.

Keynotes:
Several times a year the Genossenschaft Gleis70 together with the Department of Culture of the Canton of Zurich and Pro Helvetia provides international artists* and designers* with a guest studio and a grant.

We are now opening our guest studio to curators* from the French or Italian-speaking part of Switzerland who would like to develop an exhibition project involving artists* or designers* from the German-speaking part of Switzerland.
With this residency opportunity, we would like to support artistic exchange and collaboration between the different linguistic regions of Switzerland.
The residency at Gastatelier Gleis 70 offers the opportunity to research, make contacts, conduct interviews, etc.

The guest studio:
Gastatelier Gleis70 includes a furnished living and working space (50m2 in total).
The guest studio is wheelchair accessible.
Artists*, designers*, craftsmen, musicians*, theater and film makers* are working in the house. The canteen on the 6th floor is open during the day from 9 am – 4 pm. Grocery stores, post office, bank, pharmacy are nearby.
Genossenschaft Gleis 70 is easily accessible by train, tram, bus and also by car. There is no own parking lot.

Support/Costs:
The guest studio is free of charge. In addition, we pay a grant of CHF 3000.- and one monthly ticket of the VBZ (public transport in Zurich). However, scholarship holders are responsible for their own travel expenses, materials, insurance, etc.

Requirements for application:
– CURATORS* in the field of ART or DESIGN from the French or Italian speaking part of Switzerland who have completed their education at least two years ago.

– The concept of the curatorial project demands the involvement of artists* or designers* from the German-speaking part of Switzerland.

– 80% residency requirement applies.
