Artist-in-Residence Programme 2027 – Call for Applications

The Villa Sonnenberg Foundation is delighted to announce that applications are now open for the 2027 Artist-in-Residence Programme.

The annual theme for 2027 is «Myths». Full details and the complete terms and conditions can be found in the PDF document: Artist-in-Residence – Call for Applications 2027.

We invite professional artists working in visual arts and music to apply for a three-month residency at Villa Sonnenberg. Residencies are available during the following periods:

• Mid-January to mid-April 2027
• Mid-May to mid-August 2027
• Mid-September to mid-December 2027

Applicants should indicate all periods for which they are available. A minimum attendance of 80% is required.

Please note: only individual applications are eligible. Artist duos or collectives cannot be considered. For each residency period, one artist will be selected as the sole resident at Villa Sonnenberg.

Applicants are requested to carefully review the required materials as outlined in the PDF. Project proposals should address the annual theme «Myths» and be submitted by May 31, 2026.
There is no application or participation fee.

Application documents:
• CV with photo and summary of your artistic career
• Project outline related to the annual theme, including your motivation for the residency (max. 2 pages)
• Proposal for your contribution to the daily operations of Villa Sonnenberg (optional)
• Examples of your work, including recent projects
• Proof of insurance for illness or accident (required upon acceptance)
